North Dakota's At-large congressional district: Democrat Earl Pomeroy, North Dakota's sole congressman, won by 65% to 34% over Republican Matthew Mechtel in 2006, compared to 59% to 40% in 2004. George W. Bush won in this district 63% to 36% for John Kerry in 2004. His Republican opponent is Duane Sand, who ran in 2004.
